I want to remove a few perennials and plant strawberries in their place. Will the blueberries and other perennials be compatible if within a few feet and in the same garden patch?

should not be a problem, i would think it would even be good for the strawberry if you live in a hot area.
take a look at the site provided, it shows a list of compatible plants and plants which are good for each other in close proximity.
The only problems I foresee with with having blueberries, perennials and strawberries in close proximity to each other is the attraction of a large number of birds that will eat your berries, and the fact that strawberry plants do produce runners and need enough space to grow in.
