According to the instructions on the packet, it says I have to keep the sown seeds outside in a cold frame. Is that what everybody does? I sowed my Columbine seeds on Dec 31, 2008 and still they did not germinate (though the packet says that I should wait 21-30 days).
I live in Zone 5, so we can get some harsh winter weather. I was wondering if there are any flower seeds I can sow now for blooms next spring/summer….Only tried and true for zone 5, please.
I am planning and constructing a community garden for my inner city university (New York City) using raised beds. The footage of the beds has not yet been determined, but I would say at the very least 4′ on all sides.
Types of plants I’m interested in: mostly hardy plants, perennials, colorful, flowering in different seasons.
Any good planting resources you can refer me to would be great as well.
